TextMinty is a free tool for counting and cleaning text. Make room for better essays, drafts, emails and lists. No account is needed, and editing takes place in your browser.

Transparent counting and cleaning

With spaces includes spaces and line breaks. Without spaces excludes spaces, tabs and line breaks. Modern browsers count visible character clusters, so a family emoji counts as one. Other websites may use different counting rules. Words and sentences use the browser’s language-aware segmentation. Automatic mode uses your browser language; select the text language for mixed-language work. Results can vary by language and browser. Older browsers use approximate letter groups. Reading time is only an estimate at 200 counted words per minute.

Supported formats

Open UTF-8 TXT, Markdown and CSV files up to 1 MB. Content is handled as plain text. Word/PDF parsing and AI grammar correction are not included. The editor supports up to 300,000 UTF-16 code units. Line endings are normalized to LF. Optional draft storage is local to the same device and browser.

How the service runs

The site includes Google AdSense advertising and Google Analytics visitor measurement. The editing tools do not send your text to a processing server. The tools remain available when ads or analytics are blocked.

Language preferences and navigation

Your interface language preference may be stored in this browser. When you switch language, text, recent edit history and tool settings are temporarily kept in this tab’s sessionStorage, then consumed and removed by the destination page. They are not sent to the server. Language-aware word counts depend on browser support.
