How it works

Less tidying. More writing.

Everything you need, without getting in your way.

01

Make yourself at home

Write, paste or open a TXT, MD or CSV file.

02

Give your text a refresh

Check the counts, clean whitespace or tidy a list.

03

Take it from here

Copy the result or save a UTF-8 TXT file.

Find the right case without retyping.

Convert letters to uppercase, lowercase, title case or sentence case. Sentence case uses punctuation and line breaks as boundaries. These are mechanical text transformations, so names, brands and acronyms such as NASA may need a final touch. Scripts without uppercase and lowercase letters stay unchanged.

How we count

A few useful answers

How are characters counted?

With spaces includes spaces and line breaks. Without spaces excludes spaces, tabs and line breaks. Modern browsers count visible character clusters, so a family emoji counts as one. Other websites may use different counting rules.

Why are bytes different from characters?

Byte counts use UTF-8. Common Korean syllables use 3 bytes; English letters and digits usually use 1. Emoji and other scripts vary. This is not an EUC-KR or application-specific byte count.

Do you store my text?

By default, text only lives in the current tab. Turn on “Save draft on this device” to store it in this browser. Turning it off deletes that saved draft. Separate Google advertising and analytics services may process visitor information.

How are words and reading time calculated?

Words and sentences use the browser’s language-aware segmentation. Automatic mode uses your browser language; select the text language for mixed-language work. Results can vary by language and browser. Older browsers use approximate letter groups. Reading time is only an estimate at 200 counted words per minute.
